Sallie – Oh yes, that is right….I forgot about the bottle-feeding, selective C-section having Mom that you are. For shame! Just kidding. You know, I am BFing Liam still at 11 months, and it is amazing – people are up in your face when you’re pregnant that you HAVE to BF. But then, at 11 months, those same people will treat you like a freak for “still doing THAT.” Frankly, my parenting choices and decisions are not up for discussion with anyone but Aaron. I heard a saying once on a breastfeeding support board I frequented at the beginning from one mom (who nursed 6 of her kids, but was NOT a lactivist) that “it doesn’t matter whether you formula feed or breastfeed. They’re all going to drink Kool Aid and eat Doritos some day anyway.” Truer words have never been spoken, in my humble opinion. And don’t tell Aaron I married him just for the Kraft connection! Here he is, the past two years, thinking I married him because I love him! *snickers* It IS nice having a connection there though – they have a company store, so getting things like Starbucks coffee, and other Kraft/Nabisco/Post/Oscar Mayer products IS admittedly pretty sweet. I can make a wicked homemade mac and cheese, but honestly, I like the weirdly orange blue box noodles, for some reason. Maybe it is because it hearkens back to my poorer, but freer days of college. It was good eating and a red letter week when I could afford ground beef or chicken to put in it! Add some mixed veggies, more shredded cheese on top, make the cheese sauce with a bit of sour cream instead, and wow…that was gourmet eating. Maybe those of us who eat it as adults eat it for nostalgic reasons, more than anything… I’ve never seen the chicken noodle dinner over on our side of the Lake though – must be a Michigan thing? Good thing we don’t have it though – no MSG for me! It is the only way I avoid migraines. I highly recommend the Sign Dvd – you should be able to find it at your local library. That way you can try it before you buy it. Then again, most of what is done by Baby Einstein is good stuff. We have the extended digital cable, but we mainly watch the History channel, CNN, Food Network, and FSN. If Liam hears gunfire on the tv, he comes running – we’re working our way through the History Channel’s Revolution series, again (highly recommend as well).I’m watching an A and E series I got with Emma, P&P, S&S, and others right now during the day while Aaron is at work. We’re readers, but with an 11 month old, that waits unitl he’s in bed. Email me some time, I’d love to talk books with you!!
